This orientation provides an overview of institutional policies, academic expectations, program structure, course access, communication guidelines, and available student support services. The session is designed to ensure students understand their responsibilities, institutional standards, and resources in accordance with GNPEC requirements and VLBI’s accreditation and compliance guidelines.

Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification to support a successful and informed start to their academic journey.

Pre-Marital Counseling (Ministry-Based | SYMBIS Certified)

Pre-marital counseling is designed to help couples build a strong, Christ-centered foundation for marriage. Sessions are guided by biblical principles and include the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment, which provides practical insight into communication, personality, expectations, and spiritual alignment. This ministry-based counseling supports couples in preparing for a healthy, lasting marriage.

A $35 fee is required for the SYMBIS assessment.

This service is ministry-based and non-clinical. It is not therapy and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or mental health services. Pastoral Counseling is designed to support spiritual growth, emotional encouragement, healthy communication, forgiveness, and biblical decision-making.

“This Christian Counseling class has truly been a blessing in my life. It not only taught me how to help and encourage others, but it also helped heal, strengthen, and grow me spiritually. Through this class, I learned the importance of showing compassion, listening with love, and allowing God to lead every conversation and situation. There were moments when the lessons spoke directly to my own heart and reminded me that God still has a purpose and plan for my life.
Jeremiah 29:11 became very meaningful to me during this journey: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
This class reminded me that God can use our pain, experiences, and testimony to help others heal and draw closer to Him.

Joining VLBI, a Christian school, was the best choice for me. I started out in another program, but God redirected me and I am so thankful. The fellowship and strength from other likeminded believers were awesome. I haven't even met the director in person, Dr. Renee Sellers, but love her already. You will not be disappointed. I was able to obtain a certification as a Certified Christian Life Coach. This course was definitely worth it from beginning to end. This was by far a course that allowed me to learn more about my own personal journey and goals. Dr. Sellers is such a great professor that allows you to engage in the class and push you beyond your comfort zone. I truly enjoyed this class and will be taking other classes in the future.

In the Book of Genesis, Chapter 4, God rejected Cain's sacrifice because it was mediocre as opposed to his brother Abel's exemplary offering. Throughout the Christian Counseling course, Dr. Sellers was critical of the student's written presentations. Why? Because she did not want VLBI students to settle for being ordinary counselors with their expression, discernment of spirits, and most importantly in their offerings of empathy in their quests to assist with alleviating the one problem we all have experienced at some point in our lives----a form of human suffering. During the 10-week course, I learned about myself, learned that I couldn't continue to blame others (what the course refers to as external triggers) solely for my shortcomings. Yes, I had to take responsibility for the fear, anger, and passive aggression instilled within (internal triggers) which ultimately led to my self-imposed exile, alienations, and isolations. For this revelation, I thank and praise God for being a part of the Summer 2025 Board Certified Christian Counseling course. I also thank Him for my instructor, Dr. Sellers. She along with my unique, like-minded, and courageous classmates helped me to come to grips with my inner demons so that but doing so, my victories and testimonies might be used to equip, empower, and elevate someone who at this very moment feels that all hope is lost. Not so, my friend(s) as, "NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God"..........(Romans 8:38-39). Yes, He felt we were all worth dying for and I am truly thankful for this course's constant reminder!!!!!

We saw a post about becoming a Certified Christian Counselor on Facebook very close to the start of class. It was like God was saying, “You just need to start.” We were able to submit our documents & make the payment in order to start on time. Completion of this class was an introduction to going back to school completing our degrees. This was an accomplishment, we as a married couple were able accomplish together. Victorious Bible Living Institute and Dr. Renae Sellers are so instrumental in helping us get through the process of furthering our education. We Love this school so much we traveled with our children to graduation. We are looking forward completing the next level together, at Victorious Living Bible Institute.
